Pinball Restoration Experts: 40+ Years of Family Expertise

Davide and Nicola Travagin, pinball restoration experts with 40+ years experience

We've been restoring pinball machines for over forty years. It started in the 1960s in northern Italy, where our father built a name for himself as someone who genuinely understood these machines inside and out. That knowledge passed down to us, and it's been our work ever since.

This isn't something we came to recently. Davide and Nicola grew up in our father's workshop, learning to read a machine by sight, fix boards, and respect the original design. The approach he taught us is still the one we use today.

Davide runs operations and customer relations from London, working with collectors and arcade owners across the UK, Europe, and the US. Nicola leads the restoration work from our workshop in Slovenia, doing the work himself with the same attention to detail we've always applied.

We buy, restore, and supply pinball machines in all conditions. Machines ready to play, and machines that need rebuilding from the ground up. If you're after something specific, get in touch and we'll tell you what we can do.

Our Journey

Pinball Restoration Heritage: Three Generations Since the 1960s

Three generations of experience.

1960s

The Foundation

Our father started working with pinball machines in northern Italy in the 1960s, when these things were everywhere and needed constant attention. He got very good at it. He understood the mechanical side in a way most people never did, and built a reputation across the region as the person you called when nobody else could fix the machine. That's where everything started for us.

1970s

Learning the Craft

We grew up around it. Davide was cleaning playfields as a kid, Nicola was diagnosing mechanical problems before he was a teenager. We didn't learn from books or courses. We learned from watching and doing. Our father had high standards and he passed them on. By the time the decade was over, both of us knew how to work on just about anything.

1976-1980s

The Solid State Revolution

When solid state electronics arrived with Bally's Star Trek in 1976, a lot of people in the trade struggled to adapt. We didn't. Electronics was just another thing to learn, and we learned it. The 1980s meant Williams, Bally, Gottlieb, all of them. By the end of that decade we could handle any machine, old or new, mechanical or electronic.

1990-2000

Innovation & Global Recognition

In the 1990s we started our first venture, converting old jukeboxes to CD format. We were among the first in Europe to do it properly. That eventually led to Wurlitzer working with us directly to design their digital jukebox systems, including the Chrome and Glass models. Different from pinball, but the underlying skills were the same: electronics, mechanics, and making old things work properly again.

2020-Today

The Return to Our Roots

In 2020 we came back to pinball full time. After years across different parts of the industry, we decided to focus on what we'd always been best at. PinballMagic started as a way to put everything we'd learned to use, sourcing, restoring, and selling pinball machines to collectors and arcade owners around the world. That's what we do now.

Meet the Team

Expert Pinball Restorers: The Travagin Family

We're continuing what our father started in the 1960s, with decades of hands-on experience between them.

Davide Travagin, Co-Founder & Operations Manager at Pinball Magic, based in London, UK

Davide Travagin

Co-Founder & Operations Manager
London, UK

Davide manages operations and customer relations from London. That means handling everything from initial enquiries to shipping logistics, making sure each order actually goes smoothly. He's been around pinball machines his whole life though, starting in our father's workshop long before he was thinking about business. He can assess a machine's condition quickly because he's seen thousands of them. That background makes him useful to deal with on both the commercial and technical side.

Nicola runs the workshop in Slovenia and does the actual restoration work. He's been taking apart and rebuilding pinball machines since he was a child, and he still approaches each one the same way: it either meets the standard or it goes back. He works through everything himself, from playfield cleaning and part replacement to electronic board repairs. When a machine leaves the workshop, it plays the way it should.

What We Stand For

Why Choose Pinball Magic for Pinball Restoration

Here's what shapes the way we work, from the first look at a machine to the moment it arrives with you.

Passion for Preservation

Every machine has a story. Some entertained people for thirty years. Some sat forgotten in a garage for twenty. We've been bringing them back to life since the 1960s, and that never gets old.

40 Years of Hands-On Experience

Nicola and Davide grew up working on these machines alongside their father. Forty years of doing this means we've seen every failure mode, from mechanical rebuilds to electronic board repairs. That knowledge doesn't come from a manual.

You Deal With Us Directly

When you reach out, you speak with Davide or Nicola. No middlemen, no sales scripts. The same brothers who learned this trade from their father, working with customers across Europe, the UK, and the USA.

No Shortcuts, Ever

We source authentic parts whenever possible and respect original designs. Collectors live with these machines every day. They notice every detail. So do we.
